Community Services began its annual upgrading of sidewalks June 1, 2021. This part of the City of Dover’s ongoing effort to support all modes of transportation in Dover, including providing safe sidewalks for pedestrians. Each year, the Community Services Department creates a list of sidewalks considered to be a high priority for upgrades. The sidewalks selected for upgrades are designed by the Engineering Division, and then a construction firm is selected through a competitive bid. This year, the City Council awarded the sidewalk bid to John H. Lyman & Sons, Inc., of Gilford for $451,000.
