The Keating Avenue and Birchwood Place neighborhood has some of the oldest homes and infrastructure in the City of Dover. The sewer lines in the area have been identified as needing repair to address ongoing inflow/infiltration concerns.
This area also has poor drainage, which often causes backing up and ponding in low parts of the road.
The proposed improvements will incorporate low-impact development strategies to improve the storm water quality.
The proposed project will include the redesign of the roadway to include low-impact development practices that will disconnect impervious areas and provide treatment and infiltration of storm water runoff. The project will also include the reconstruction of the existing municipal sewer line.
Water lines and services will also be replaced.
Construction is scheduled for the 2017 construction season.
