The Friends of the Dover Public Library are pleased to present a highly recommended presentation on “Preserving Your Family Heirlooms” by Lori Fisher on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. in the library’s Lecture Hall.

Are you the defacto family historian? Do you wonder how to preserve and care for all of the precious photos, memorabilia, and objects that illustrate your family’s history? Get a jump start on that project with lots of helpful information. Lori Fisher, Director of the Baker Free Library in Bow, will discuss the six agents of deterioration, and provide ideas and steps to take care of your important photos, documents, and objects. Handouts about appraisals, conservation, and resources for storage materials will be provided.

Lori draws on her 18 years of experience as a museum curator at the Chapman Historical Museum, Historic Cherry Hill, the National Museum of Racing, and the New Hampshire Political Library, Lori is passionate about this subject and will provide the much needed inspiration so that we may confidently undertake the proper care, safeguarding, and preservation of cherished family and personal keepsakes.
