Road work to close portion of Central Avenue Sunday evening

Sargent Corporation, the City’s general contractor for the Keating Avenue and Birchwood Place neighborhood reconstruction project, will perform additional road work on Central Avenue. This work will again require the complete closure of Central Avenue (NH Route 108) at the Birchwood Place intersection. The closure will occur overnight between 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 29 and 5 a.m. on Monday, April 30.

The work zone will be just north of the Exit 7N and Locust Street intersections.

Through traffic in both directions will be diverted toward Locust Street. Silver Street will be the primary detour route, with Trakey Street also available to non-commercial vehicles as a shorter detour. Dover Police and civilian traffic control personnel will be on hand to help manage the traffic diversion.
