Dover Police Chief William M. Breault announces the following road closures and parking restrictions for the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s annual 5K Run/Walk event. On Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 9 a.m., the following downtown streets will be closed briefly to all traffic. These closures should last about 10 to 15 minutes:

Dover Police Chief William M. Breault announces the following road closures and parking restrictions for the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s annual 5K Run/Walk event. On Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 9 a.m., the following downtown streets will be closed briefly to all traffic. These closures should last about 10 to 15 minutes:

  • Central Avenue, from Second Street to Washington Street
  • Main Street at Chapel Street
  • Portland Avenue at Chapel Street

Additional closures will be in effect for longer periods of time:

  • Henry Law Avenue, from Washington Street to Hanson Street, 8 to 11 a.m.
  • Washington Street, from Main Street to River Street, 9 to 10 a.m.
  • Gulf Road, from Atlantic Avenue to Baer Road, 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.
  • Cocheco Street, 9 to 10 a.m.
  • Fairway Drive, 9 to 10 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays on Portland Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, and Oak Street. Dover police personnel and a number of event volunteers will be on hand to help manage the flow of traffic along the race route. The start and finish point for this event is at Henry Law Park.

Parking restrictions will be posted and in effect in the following areas on Saturday morning:

  • Henry Law Avenue, from Washington Street to George Street
  • Portland Avenue, from Main Street to Cocheco Street

Event parking for participants will be available in the Orchard Street parking garage, or on River Street as marked with Event Parking signs.
