Curb work to require partial closure of Chestnut Street

posted on: 3/30/2020

Contractors for the Orpheum Apartments construction project will reset curbs on Chestnut Street beginning Tuesday, March 31, 2020. The work will continue for four or five days, on weekdays, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.

To facilitate the work, traffic will be affected as follows:

Northbound traffic on Locust Street will be restricted from continuing north on Chestnut Street and will be diverted to remain on Locust Street to reach Washington Street.

Southbound traffic on Chestnut Street will continue to flow past the work site.

Northbound traffic destined for Saint Thomas Street or Citizens Bank can follow a short detour around the 104 Washington Street block.

The project's construction management firm, Fulcrum, has obtained certificates of occupancy for some of the residential units within the building, and new tenants are expected to begin occupying the property this week.
