All trash placed for collection shall be contained in specific Dover trash bags, securely tied and not exceeding 20 pounds for a 15-gallon bag, and 35 pounds for the 30-gallon bag. All recycling material shall be placed for collection in a recycling bin. Any bulky waste items must Dover bulky tag attached to it.
ALL TRASH & RECYCLING MUST BE CURBSIDE BY 7 A.M. ON THE DAY OF YOUR PICKUP
Residents shall not place materials for collection along the curb or edge of the street earlier than 4 p.m. on the evening before the scheduled collection day. This provision shall apply to materials placed for collection by the City contractor and private contractors.

The curbside leaf collection begins the week of Oct. 27 and continues five weeks through the week of Dec. 1. Collection is on the same day as trash and recycling.
Curbside collection will occur the following weeks:
Leaves must be placed curbside in biodegradable paper leaf bags, available at hardware and home improvement stores. No brush will be accepted.
Grass clippings, leaves, brush and yard waste are also accepted at the Recycling Center during regular operating hours, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Recycling Center will also be open Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from Sunday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 7.

Bulky Item Tags: Used to dispose of non-metal items too large to fit in a Dover trash bag, such as furniture, toilets, mattresses, box springs, carpets (rolled/folded/tied in 3-foot lengths), couches, chairs, and other large non-metal items. Bulky Item Tags cost $10 each, and can be purchased at the City Clerk’s Office, the Public Works Facility, the Recycling Center and at most locations where you purchase City trash bags.
