The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces that beginning Wednesday, April 22, 2020, nighttime construction operations will commence on the Spaulding Turnpike (NH 16) between Exit 3 and Exit 6 to facilitate the installation of overhead sign structures in Dover.

Construction work will include the installation of three overhead sign structures that span the Spaulding Turnpike between the Little Bay Bridge and Exit 6. Lane closures will be implemented on both the north and southbound barrels of the Spaulding Turnpike. In addition, short-term traffic stoppages and rolling roadblocks will be utilized for the erection of the sign structures and signs over the turnpike. Night operations will be in place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and are being utilized to produce the least amount of impact to daytime commuter traffic. This phase of work, which is weather dependent is scheduled to be completed over a four-day period.

This work is part of the Newington-Dover 11238Q project. Severino Trucking Company, Inc. of Candia New Hampshire is the prime contractor for the project, which is scheduled to be completed in October, 2020.
