The City Council will continue its general budget review at a 6 p.m. workshop on Wednesday, May 4. If it's ready to adopt a budget by the end of the workshop, the Council will adjourn the workshop and hold a budget adoption special meeting. If it doesn't adopt a budget on May 4, the Council will take up the budget again at its May 11 regular meeting.

There will be opportunities for public input on the budget at the workshop and the special budget adoption meeting, if it occurs.

The City Council began its review of the proposed FY2023 budget at its April 27 workshop, which can be viewed here. The discussion included City Manager J. Michael Joyal, Jr. reviewing two budget documents with the Council.

One document provides options for general fund budget adjustments the City Manager has collected from Councilors through the budget process. The document also includes estimated property tax impacts from those potential adjustments. The second document is a 10-year history of the amount Dover has received through the statewide education property tax (SWEPT) and state adequacy aid grant.
