The Dover City Council will hold its first regular meeting of the month on Wednesday, June 12, at 7 p.m.

The Council will begin the meeting with a proclamation honoring the Dover Robotics Team, which won six awards in its inaugural season. The team is comprised of students in grades 7-12.

The Council will also hold a public hearing on a pending resolution that would rename the Class VI portion of Locke Street to Tranquility Way. Also on the agenda:

  • Authorizing the monitoring costs for the Pudding Hill Aquifer for 2024 and 2025 for $152,400. The city expects to be reimbursed for the full amount per its settlement agreement with New England Metal Recycling.
  • Authorizing the awarding of the bid for relining existing sewer lines for $272,272. The city plans to reline 2,760, or a little more than a half-mile, of sections of deteriorating sewer lines. The work will help reduce the infiltration of groundwater into identified sections of the sanitary sewer system, according to the resolution’s background materials. The funding is part of an annual budget appropriation to address and reduce sources of inflow and infiltration into the sewer system.
  • Authorize purchasing two replacement pumps for the River Street Pump Station for $276,825. The pumps were damaged in May 2023 when the pump station was flooded. The best parts of the two current pumps would be salvaged and combined into one fully functional emergency spare pump.
