Don't Trash Dover is a volunteer organization founded by Deborah Clough. Don't Trash Dover organizes a monthly, one-hour volunteer Litter Collection Walk.
One Saturday of each month, volunteers gather at a specific location, departing for an hour-long trash hunt at 9:30 a.m. The crew returns to the same location at 10:30 a.m. for a group photo with the trash collected.
The City of Dover provides trash bags to collect public litter during these walks. Don't Trash Dover has a limited supply of litter collection tools available for use during these walks. Bring your own if you have one. Gloves are recommended. Let’s work together to help keep Dover green!
Check Don't Trash Dover's Facebook group if there are any changes due to weather, etc. at https://www.facebook.com/groups/201985717259565.
Annually in April, Don't Trash Dover organizes a city-wide Power-of-an-Hour Litter Clean Up in honor of Earth Day. The next one will be Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Volunteers will be provided trash bags to pick up as much trash as they can, followed by a photo of the group with all the trash collected.
The litter collections will begin and end at:
Please wear a safety vest or bright clothing. Bring gloves, appropriate walking shoes, and, if you have them, a litter collection tool and/or wagon.
The City of Dover requests new volunteers to complete a Volunteer Service Agreement, and email it to donttrashdover@gmail.com, or bring it with you to the event. If you've already filled one out for a previous Don't Trash Dover event, you don't need to complete a new one.
