An error in the rate for water utility bills for the period of July 2016 through January 2017 resulted in a charge of an additional 3 cents per unit to utility users.

To correct the error, water utility bills being mailed in the coming weeks will reflect an adjustment for the billing error. During the seven-month period through January 2017, water usage was billed at a rate of $4.87 per unit, instead of $4.84 per unit, a 3-cent discrepancy.

The incorrect rate was included in the fiscal year 2017 fee schedule, in error. The correct rate was approved as part of the City Council's adoption of the fiscal year 2017 budget.
