School District announces budget schedule

The Dover School District recently announced its anticipated 2020-2021 school budget timeline with a presentation to the School Board of the proposed outline of spending by Superintendent of Schools, Dr. William Harbron.
The School Board will conduct weekly presentations starting in January to work through and adopt a final budget which will be presented to the Dover City Council in April. Citizens are encouraged to get involved, stay informed, and be engaged in the process. The fiscal year 2021 budget schedule is as follows:
- January 7: Budget presentations to the School Board
- January 13: Budget presentations to the School Board
- January 21: Budget Workshop
- January 27: Budget Workshop
- February 3: School Board to adopt Budget
- February 10: School Board back up date to adopt budget
- February 14: School Budget due to City Manager
- April 1: Superintendent to present Budget to City Council
- April 15: School Budget Public Hearing
- May TBD: City Budget (including School Budget) adoption
