The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is an unprecedented health crisis that has disrupted our local, national and worldwide economy. This disruption is creating significant financial hardships and potentially lasting economic impacts that affect Dover residents, businesses and nonprofits. To assist in overcoming the financial and emotional challenges many are experiencing now and in the weeks and months ahead, a number of programs and services are already in place or being implemented by the City of Dover. These measures are being coordinated with federal, state and private efforts, and provide economic support and financial relief to all residents, businesses and nonprofits affected by the COVID-19 crisis and in need of assistance.

Earlier this week, the City Council voted to launch Dover CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Support), a new program that provides updated information about relief measures available to Dover taxpayers, resident, businesses and nonprofits. Some of the relief measures available now include property tax relief, financial assistance, resources for housing and food, extended payment plans for water and sewer utilities, waived fees, and much more.

The information is conveniently available at the Dover CARES online resource at www.dover.nh.gov/dovercares. The information at Dover CARES will be updated regularly as additional relief measures become available.
