Ongoing paving work downtown will continue on Monday, July 6, weather permitting, with the paving of the following streets:

• Locust Street, from Silver Street to Washington Street
• Chestnut Street, from Locust to Washington
• Washington Street, from Central Avenue to Chestnut Street

Work will begin at 7 a.m. with Washington Street and proceed to the other locations over the course of the day. Street closures and access restrictions will be intermittent throughout the day, and will shift as the work progresses.

Locust Street, from Silver Street to Chestnut Street, will be open only in the northbound direction throughout the day. Additionally, the side streets and driveways that intersect Locust Street will be blocked while pavement is applied, rolled and cooled, at some point during the day. Crossing traffic will also be limited at times in order to prevent tire marks and gouges in the fresh pavement.

Library and McConnell Center patrons, city employees, and Orpheum Apartments residents may experience delays or even restricted access in or out for periods of 10-20 minutes if attempting to arrive or depart by car.
