AUTHORITY AND DUTIES: The Arts Commission shall serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council and City Manager to enhance an appreciation and awareness of arts and culture in the community through increased dialog and participation of citizens.

In 2023, the Dover Arts Commission awarded Dover resident Aidan Allen a $2,000 City Arts grant to produce a film about the Dover Teen Center. Allen premiered his '3-6: A Short Documentary for teh Dover Teen Center' at the Strand Theatre on Oct. 10, 2024.
The documentary highlights the story of the vibrant teen center, the only municipal program of its kind in New Hampshire, and of the man who helped it come to life, Teen Center Director Steve Pappajohn.
