The City Council will hold a workshop on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 for general budget review of the FY2027 budget. The workshop begins at 6 p.m. in City Hall's Council Chambers. The workshop provides a forum for the City Council to seek additional information and shape the budget into its final form.

Council members will discuss what aspects of the proposed budget they want to keep, add to, and/or remove. Over the course of the budget preparation cycle, the City Manager collects suggestions of potential budget line item increases or decreases and adds them to a spreadsheet. Each line item includes the estimated tax rate change and the impact on an average residential tax bill. The City Manager discussed the initial draft of this document during the March 15 workshop.

Following the workshop, if it is ready, the City Council will call a special meeting for a budget adoption vote. The Council may also opt to defer adoption to its regular meeting on Wednesday, April 8. City ordinance requires the City Council to adopt the city's budget annually by April 15, which goes into effect on July 1.
