Oak Street bridge topic of NHDOT informational meeting

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will host a Public Informational Meeting to discuss bridge rehabilitation and replacement alternatives, with associated roadwork and traffic control, including detours, of the state-owned Red List bridge (069/046) carrying Oak Street over the CSX rail line in the City of Dover and the Town of Rollinsford. The meeting will include Dover officials.

The meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers and the Council Conference Room at Dover City Hall. The public is encouraged to attend and participate.

The purpose of the meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project and to solicit public input to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs and community goals and protect and enhance the environment.

This project will affect cultural or historic resources that may be eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources have an opportunity to become Consulting Parties under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Additional information will be provided at the public informational meeting.
