Planning Board continues zoning amendments vote to Oct. 13

The Planning Board this week voted to continue its discussion on proposed zoning amendments to its Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, meeting.

At its Sept. 22, 2026 meeting, the Planning Board held a public hearing and discussed the proposed zoning amendments. Following two hours on the topic, the Planning Board moved to continue the discussion to its Oct. 13 meeting. The proposed changes include revisions to the Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) ordinance, which the Planning Board’s TDR Subcommittee recommended and endorsed. Other, but not all, proposed ordinance changes include:

• Moving computer and data processing from permitted uses in the Innovative Technology zones to a conditional use and creating specific restrictions;
• Updating swimming pool regulations to match the state building code;
• Amending the Customary Home Occupation ordinance;
• Amending a variety of definitions in the code.

If the Planning Board recommends the proposed zoning amendments, it will then go to the City Council for ratification. The City Council will also hold a public hearing on any proposed changes before voting to authorize zoning ordinance revisions.
