The City Council unanimously adopted a $152,322,213 million budget during a special meeting on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Because the budget exceeds the tax cap by $1,680,232, the adopted budget required a two-thirds majority vote of the City Council.
The estimated tax rate as a result of the adopted budget is $26.30, a $1.38 increase over the current tax rate. The official tax rate will be set by the state Department of Revenue Adnministration later this year.
The special meeting to vote on the budget followed several weeks of budget meetings and workshops.
